01

Busses / Replacement services

DB Regio Bus is the bus division of DB Regio AG and the leading provider of bus transport in Germany with around 420 million passengers. It comprises more than 9,900 buses operating in almost 300 districts and independent cities. It thus promotes sustainable mobility and makes a significant contribution to integrated everyday mobility. In addition to DB Regio’s own buses, third-party companies are also commissioned for replacement transport services. This not only increases the complexity of planning, but also the diversity of the traveller experience.

Tracking solutions

Real-time tracking of replacement buses leads to inaccuracies due to dependence on manual input. Does your cost-effective tracking solution offer automated detection of location, direction of travel and routes in various vehicle types?

Increased comfort

No bus like any other. Can your modular and temporary solution increase passenger comfort on buses?

Forecast of vehicles sizes

The right bus size at the right time! Do you offer an intelligent control solution to balance capacity and utilization? This requires both your ability to record utilization and to forecast it using additional data such as weather forecasts, etc.

Further solutions for busses

Do you have any further digital solutions that improve bus travel experiences or make the use of replacement services more predictable and attractive? We'd like to hear about your innovative approaches.

Traveller information

The right information for the journey at the right moment. This simple-sounding requirement quickly becomes very complex due to a very delicate interplay of data interfaces and playout media. Help us to become more efficient and correct by optimising internal processes, collecting and analysing data.

Consistency measurement of traveller information in real time

Unfortunately, passenger information on platform displays, in apps and in announcements on the platform and trains differs sometimes. We are looking for your solution to be able to capture this discrepancy in information on different end devices. Your product should record (partially) and evaluate the data to visualize it in real time so that adjustments can be made as quickly as possible.

03

Capacity information

The diversity of the vehicles also plays a decisive role when considering capacity utilisation. DB Regio would like to inform customers about the capacity utilisation of buses and trains before they set off and also during their journey. This also includes the This also includes the carriage of bicycles.

AI model for capacity utilization forecasting

Your AI-based training models creates short-term forecasts for the capacity utilization of a train journey for upcoming stops. These should be trained using our capacity utilization data and enriched with additional open data information, such as weather data or events. An AWS Cloud interface is a prerequisite here.

Real-time measurement of bicycle capacities

Multimodal mobility brings the bicycle onto the bus, especially in rural areas. How can your solution reliably measure the capacity of bicycle spaces on buses and bicycle trailers and transmit this in real time?

04

Mobility hubs in rural areas

Mobility hubs will play an important role in the transport transition as one simple and regional access point for integrated everyday mobility. In particular, mobility hubs enable a needs-based and location-specific linking of the various mobility services. As transfer points with a high quality of stay, the aim is to increase the attractiveness of public transport and create a meeting place where waiting times can be used efficiently.

Mobility hub in rural areas

Would you like to operate the mobility hub of tomorrow in rural areas, perhaps even a mobile vehicle that can serve as a showroom (add-on)? We are looking for a learning partnership to analyze needs, implement live tests and derive best practices on a joint journey.

Offers for mobility hubs

Can we create new offers in mobility hubs with your innovative and scalable product? We are specifically not looking for mobility solutions. Instead we are primarily thinking about increasing the quality of stay, interesting communication channels and media as well as expanded service offerings.
