How can Building Information Modeling (BIM) better involve the public in construction projects?

DB mindbox, together with the think tank Dialoggesellschaft e. V., invites you to the Community Day "BIM & Public Participation." Experts, startups, researchers, and interested individuals will come together to shape the future of digital public participation.

What’s it all about?

The integration of BIM into digital participation formats offers great potential - but has only been utilised selectively to date. At the Community Day, we will take a joint look at the status quo, present innovative solutions and discuss how a broader application can succeed.

What can participants expect?

  • Impulses from research, including from the RWTH Aachen University project BIM4People and the TU Dresden project HyBridGen.
  • Startups that worked intensively on this topic during the  DB mindbox Challenge at the beginning of the year. Some impressions of the pitch in April.
  • The winners of the challenge, Senf, will present the results of the 100-day "Proof of Concept" in the „Neubaustrecke Dresden-Prag“ project.
  • More fresh ideas on the topic

We want to find out: What is already technically possible today to use BIM in public participation? What further development of the BIM basics is necessary on the part of DB in order to implement citizen participation in the technical solutions? What do citizens expect from such a participation platform?
