Article: Hackathon on Last-Mile and Intermodal Connectivity
Save the Date: On 20–21 March 2026, together with the Federal Ministry for Transport and DB InfraGO, we invite startups, cycling mobility experts, and municipalities to a nationwide hackathon in Berlin.

How can railway stations become true hubs of sustainable mobility?Using data, AI, and hardware, participants will develop practical solutions to better connect mobility in and around railway stations.
Together with practitioners, users, planners, developers, and decision-makers, we will work on key questions such as:
- Challenge 1: How can mobility data enable more efficient planning and improved operations?
- Challenge 2: Which approaches strengthen first- and last-mile connections to rail?
- Challenge 3: Which solutions improve access to bicycle parking facilities at railway stations?
The hackathon will take place ahead of the conference “Anschluss erreichen” (19–20 May 2026, Berlin), where the best hackathon solutions will be presented.
Relevant datasets will be provided via the DB Open Data Portal, Mobilithek, DELFI e.V., and the OpenStation API. Participants are also welcome to bring their own projects and data sources.
